Jon minus Kate plus 8

I spent a good chunk of the last 2 days watching the Jon and Kate Plus 8 marathon on TLC. First off I'd like to say that I think it's disgusting the way TLC has been promoting the season premiere. They have clips of Jon and Kate in the separate interviews, Jon saying that he "might as well be in prison" and Kate saying she "will not lay down and die". They're doing the most they can to take advantage of the scandal. I guess ratings are the most important thing now, not keeping the family together!
Kate is trying to portray herself as the victim and I am tired of it! I understand that what's going on in the tabloids and Jon's actions are not her responsibility but I feel like Jon has apologized for his "bad decisions" enough and she needs to forgive him! Please Kate for the sake of the children, forgive your husband! The way she treated him at the birthday party broke my heart. They couldn't even make eye contact.
Alexis - my favourite girl, her conversation with Jon was heart-breaking! I started tearing up when they were joking about her buddy Braden and then when she said "Daddy, I don't want you to leave anymore"... tear-jerker. Poor kids. They have no clue what's going on. And god damn Kate refuses to stop doing the show because she is just loving life (as she said in last season's finale).
If you don't remember the last 3 minutes of season 4 consisted of Jon saying he didn't want to do the show anymore saying something like "Maybe we'll be back, maybe we won't" and Kate overruling him with "See you next season everyone!"
I love this show and the kids and I will definately miss it if it goes, but honestly, stop doing the show for the sake of your marriage and the kids. Kate supposedly wants to have her own talk show and be the next Rachael Ray and I guess she needs to keep doing the show as her stepping stone. She doesn't give a crap about her kids, did you see her packing the pinatas? Drama-queen. She was totally rude to Hannah, the daughter that loves her the most! Jon is still loving towards his kids even throughout all of this, Kate thinks of them as a burden. "Oh I have to do this party for my kids" blah blah blah. BITCH. Kate has been a fake since season 1, the only real Kate I've seen is when they show the footage of their home videos. You can totally hear it in her voice that it's all a big charade.
I don't want them to get divorced but I guess that's where they are headed although they didn't explicitly state it. I just pray to God that those kids are going to make it though this.
Jon said it best: they started the show to document their kid's lives, but then it became a business. And he doesn't want it to be a business anymore - he wants out. Kate makes excuses saying it's too late and they can't go back to being normal now, but the thing is they can. Haven't they saved any of the $25,000/episode they've been making the last 3 years? Or go back to working regular jobs? The tabloids will forget about them soon enough after they end the show. Anyone remember Talen Torriero? My point exactly. They'll always be local Pennsylvania celebs but this craziness will definately end.
On another note, Mady was being so nice this episode! She really is growing up and growing out of the brattiness. I really hope her and Cara are dealing with everything okay because they are old enough to realize what's going on.

Valley Girls

So this week's Gossip Girl could serve as the back-door pilot of a spin-off series! I for one am excited! I found the flashbacks of Lily's youth, featuring Brittany Snow (who I loved in American Dreams) to be much more entertaining than the present-day prom storyline. How long can they possibly drag out the "Will Blair and Chuck ever be together" plot? I almost skipped those parts as I watched this on my PVR.
As soon as I saw Andrew Mccarthy I knew I was sold. In my opinion Andrew Mccarthy (of 80's teen fame) is still a fox. He is my dream man. Right up there with Rob Lowe. Anyways, Mccarthy plays Lily's dad Rick Rhodes, a ballin' record exec. Young Cece is featured as a 80s version of a Real Housewife of Orange County, and Lily's rebellious sister is played by Krysten Ritter (who I thought was hilarious on Gilmore Girls).
Also, Valley Girls addressed something that I've always been curious about - Serena's father!! Keith Vanderwoodsen is apparently a skeezy, rich, music video making guy. And played by the Matt Barr, aka Peyton's stalker fake brother from One Tree Hill!
You know you watch too much TV when you recognize every single guest star.
All in all I will definately watch Valley Girls. And Josh Schwartz needs to learn how to write (or find better writers for) a show with longevity. I feel like Gossip Girl following the exact same path of The OC. For all we know Blake Lively will end up being killed off the end of season 3 and season 4 will feature Georgina as Dan's love interest and then cancelled.
